Explore Beijing—the capital city of China with rich culture and a long history. You can also take advantage of the optional tours and create some special memories.
We will begin our sightseeing today with a visit to Tian'anmen Square, located at the center of Beijing City and the midpoint of Chang'an Avenue. It is a must-see site for all tourists, due to its massive size and clouded history. Thousands of tourists and local people come to the Square every day. You can visit the Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and see the national flag raising ceremony.

The optional Day Tour Package will start with a visit to Forbidden City, which is the palace of the emperors throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is a true architectural masterpiece and home to the National Palace Museum. Covering an area of 72 hectares and having been the imperial palace for 24 emperors of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) Dynasties, the Forbidden City is honored as the largest palace in the world. It is composed of two parts, one is the Outer Court where the Emperor held court and led the nation with his imperial power, and the other is Inner Court where the Emperor resided with his family and performed religious rites. After lunch, proceed to the Summer Palace, an Imperial Garden in Beijing. The Summer Palace is another UNESCO inscribed World Heritage site.
Next up is Tongrentang Chinese Medicine Institute, which was designated to produce medicines for the royal pharmacy of the imperial palace of the Qing Dynasty for 188 years.
There is no doubt that Peking Duck is the best-known Chinese dish. This optional dinner will provide you with an authentic tasting experience of Pecking Duck.

Start with the Great Wall (Juyongguan), one of the "Seven Wonders of the World" and the UNESCO heritage site that you can't miss. Get a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700-mile marvel.

Take a morning tour to Temple of Heaven, recognized by UNESCO, an architectural masterpiece built between 1406-1460 AD. Temple of Heaven was built for ceremonies honoring the god of harvests during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Then visit the famous rickshaw Hutong to see how the locals live. You will have "Zhajiang" Noodle with special Beijing traditional source as your lunch.
After 5pm, take a flight to Shanghai (about 2 hours). Upon arrival at Shanghai airport then transfer to Suzhou directly by bus. (About one-hour drive)

Suzhou is known as the Oriental Venice for its exquisite canals, bridges, pagodas, and beautiful gardens.
After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Lingering Garden, a classic private garden with 500 years of history.
Afterwards, continue our journey to the Suzhou Silk Factory—the largest silk factory in the country, to discover the mysterious producing of silk.
You will have the opportunity to taste the famous local dish "Hong Shao Paigu", which is Wuxi style pork ribs, cooked in a red style, topping a sauce of rice wine and soya sauce flavored with ginger, cloves, anise and black pepper.

In late afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Li Garden, which lies on the bank of Li Lake, covering an area of 8.2 hectares. It is also one of the main beautiful attractions of Tai Lake, a key scenic area of China.

Today, we will make our way from Wuxi to Hangzhou. On the way to Hangzhou we will pass by and chill at the fresh Water Pearl Farm.
Hangzhou is described by Marco Polo as "the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world".
Enjoy Dongpo Pork which is slowly cooked by braising fine-skinned and thin pieces of fat streaky bacon with famous Shaoxing wine in a sealed pot. When the dish is ready, the bacon will be moist and red, and the sauce will be thick and tasty. It tastes savory, sweet and tender, but not greasy.

Optional Evening shows:
A. Impression West Lake ($79/person from Feb- Oct). This large-scale scenic on-water performance is produced by famous film director Yimou Zhang. It is one of the best shows in China, so we highly recommend it!

West lake is the most renowned feature and the centre of Hangzhou, noted for its scenic beauty which blends naturally with many famous historical and cultural sites. Take a boat ride to see the lake and the city from a different angle.
For lunch, you will have the opportunity to taste the authentic local "Xiao Long Bao" (steamed buns).
After lunch, visit the No.1 tea plantation and taste the well-known Dragon Well Tea, which is acknowledged as the best green tea in China, and the best among all the green teas in the world.
Afterwards, the bus driver will drive us to Shanghai. Walk along the famous Bund, lined by the colonial architecture of European design built in early 1900s. This area is the best place to capture the Western influence on Shanghai’s architecture and urban space in the old days. It is now the called "Wall Street of the East".

MAKING A RESERVATION

Reservation: Please fill all the information in the booking form. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive at your destination. A 30% deposit is required at time of booking. Full payment must be received  3 month prior to the departure date. We reserve the right to cancel the booking without prior notice if the balance is not paid by the deadlines and you will forfeit your deposit. We reserve the right to cancel any tour and to decline to accept any person as a participant on a tour. Single supplement must be paid at the time of booking. The company will assist in finding someone to share a room but this is not guaranteed.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Air-inclusive package is 100% NON-REFUNDABLE

For land only tours:
If you cancel your tour for any reason including medical or personal, cancellation fees will apply as follows:
(1) More than 120 days before departure – 10% of tour price penalty.
(2) 120-90 days before departure- 25% of tour price penalty.
(3) 90-60 days before departure- 50% of tour price penalty.
(4) 60 days before departure – No refund.

Customers are responsible for obtaining and paying for all visas and entry documents,for meeting all health and other requirements and for any documents required by the laws, regulations, orders and/or requriements of the countries you will visit and for your return home.Visa and entry documents must be obtained independently prior to departure. Compass Holidays will assume no responsibility whatever for passengers denied carriage by the airline or refused entry into any country.
